New Dimensions Participants

The New Dimensions In Community Education Program has flourished into 6 formats:

New Dimensions in Deliquency Prevention
New Dimensions in Family Empowerment
New Dimensions in Neighborhood Empowerment
New Dimensions in Improving Community Control
New Dimensions in Rights of Passage
New Dimensions in Out of School Time

Each Format combines "best practices" in the field of prevention, intervention and reading enhancement with our cultural curriculum: daily pledge and song, the "Olde Fashioned Manners" model, completion of an Afrocentricity Workbook, reading of classic literature, African Drumming & Dancing lessons, and the culmination each term with the Annual Showcase, which is produced, performed and choreographed by youth.

CAW's Future – like its history – is on the leading edge in youth and family programming. Funds raised during the 18th Anniversary Celebrity Cruise will support:

Universal Village Network – A coalition of corporations, public officials, community leaders, educators, parents, and citizens who support youth development.

Corporate Sponsored Scholarships – Working with corporate partners to provide scholarships to reduce the number of youth on CAW's waiting list for high-quality after-school and summer programs.

Independent Parent Council – To foster parental involvement and advocacy among parents of at-risk youth.

CAW Child Development Center – To prepare youth during the influential pre-K years
